Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been busy with work so PinkBoudoir was quiet for a long time. But with X'mas in the air, I could not resist my pliers & charms & beads & got cracking. A small collection of delicate pieces is up. I hope you enjoy them as I did creating them.

These are mobile phone straps that has a clasp which doubles as a key chain. They are all things BLINGs, assorted mix of colour & design. They are private orders for some regulars who wish to give them away to friends & colleagues this X'mas.

I've always thought they were black & huge & fearsome. As a kid, I went through the dark tunnel(whatever it was called) @ Jurong Bird Park to view the owls. But some 16 years ago, I found an injured owl. It was gingery in shade & ohsoveryvery cute. In fact it looks so lovable just like our pet cats & dogs. Seems like it was migration & this poor fella got lost & hit the glass building where we work & collapsed. We called the Bird Park & they took the ginger owl & nursed it back to health before letting him go. So to me, fearsome owls were erased!!! Owls = cute to me. :)

Enough of ramblings. Here is a pair of white owl earrings. Cute yeah?

I did an approx 23" length chain to go with this buttefly pendant piece made earlier. I use minimal beads(blue swarovski & clear & white czech glass beads) to scatter around the 14k gold plated rectangular link chains.

I did most of the chains to drop longer about 27" to 30". This is the first one I made shorter. Unfortunately also, this is the last piece of the butterfly pieces I have.

For some of us here, unfortunately the atmosphere has been catty for a while. To mark this moment, I turned this sexy feline into a malicious one complete with a huge bloody red swarovski flower & bitchy-ness of black goth beads to represent the bitchy-ness of black goth!

On rhodium plated chains. Black swarovski black pearls & black glass beads are scattered throughout this approx 30" chain. A twisted frame in silver tones hangs near the centrepiece holding a red swarovski red crystal. A filligree as seen in C25 to C27 makes the centrepiece & hanging on to it is a cat in purple. Again this cat is immaculately detailed.

CLEARANCE - Ribbons!

I started out beading loving beady pieces. In fact, I started on my accessories journey(the buying completed pieces kind) on beady pieces but progressed to liking chains & charms. I was clearing out my beads but I got sidetracked by the charms I have. I went out to get satin ribbon & made this.

This is the modified version. It has a toggle closure so no hassle in tying the ribbon. All you need to do is tie up the bow real tight.

This is how it looks worn.

The original designer of these Ribbon bracelets is Rachel Leigh or that I have seen around. Not sure if other designers made them before her?

That ribbon is a muted/dusky gold toned dual sided satin(or the ribbon seller claimed). This is a nice neutral shade on most skintones. It's about 15" on each side wrapped two times over. All you do is knot it into a ribbon when you wear it.

OK next come the fun part. You can choose a charm other than mr elephant since the trunk might look phallic to some of you(like me) & not want it so near your delicate wrists in broad daylight for all & sundry. ;) OK I am way off tangent! *smacks self*

Back to this bracelet, I have crowns, hearts etc. LMK what you are looking for. ALSO I have a rich chocolatey brown ribbon & a rich dark blue. You can choose any of that. Just last Sat morning, I was watching Smallville while having breakfast. Lana Lang had her hair up in a bun of sorts & had this hoop with chains earrings. I am not much of an earring wearer but I liked her earring so very much.

This is what I came up with. 14k gold plated chains & circular frame on gold toned hook.Lots of 14k gold plated chains hanging off the circular frame. Simple yet elegant. This would take you from day to night. Bun up your hair, keep it off the face & this is all you need to jazz up your outfit!

It is afterall a Monday so what better way to start then to make something Blue. This is a goth blue piece & not for the faint hearted! 3 different chains are used. Twisted chains, big round linked chains & a chains with lots of circular hoops all over the chain. The 2 faceted shimmery beads are faceted blue sandstone. It has lots of silvery shimmery bits in it.

Of course the focal point are the porcelain marbled look of the pillow bead & the swirls & dark prints of the heart in matching shades. Both are Ade's polymer clay beads.

In 2006, I did a double strand piece that I named Queen of Hearts. Then it was an icy piece of clear beads, red heart beads & crown chains.

This time round it is another double strand piece which are hooked together near the clasp. It was meant to be all brown & old gold but I added the HUGE fuchsia beads on thin antique gold chains so bright pink dances on the translucent white beads. The brown heart has gold-y detailing on the flower. Cute Kettle toggle clasp.

This is a super long piece. The chain length is about 32" with a drop of about 6&1/2". The ends are two chains overlapping each other. One ends with a BLING & the other with a goth black teardrop. This piece is shiny silver & black matte. The matte black runs round the back & one one side. The rest of the chain features silver toned chain. A mix of matte & shiny, silver & black.

This is how it looks on a plain tee. The length can be adjusted to a comfortable length of wearer.

Somehow as I was twisting these wire pendants, I was reminded of Birdcage, maybe coz of all the wires involved! So this little project shall be named just that. I have a couple of pieces up for grabs. These cannot be replicated coz they are manually twisted & recreating an exact piece would be quite impossible. As this is my first batch of wire(tarnish resistant wires used) twisted pendants, they would go at S$12 to S$16 each. With it comes a thin plain chain. However, if you wish to request I make a necklace piece incorporating the pendant, it can be done. Prices then would be dependent on the complexity of the completed piece.

It has been a slow 2007 on PinkBoudoir front. Whilst there are a whole lot of new materials that came in since Jan 2007, most had been left at the bead station in cold storage. A whole lot of commitments had taken me away from my beading table. As much as I tried to sit down & get creative, often I get pulled away. No more late night beading every night of the week, no more sitting at the bead table whole weekend through, no more sneaking in all the time I could to bead. Thus most of the orders I take are purely customised pieces or on special request. BTW, you can check some not so recent accessories made here.

A big, warm, thank you to many of you had written to me to ask that I started making accessories. You have been amazingly supportive. I promise to be back soon with some trinkets just for you. For now, I still have to take each day as it comes. I am nursing a nasty bug which attempted to invade my system a couple of weeks back. I have been doing nothing but resting & cabbaging in front of the tv for weeks. When I thought I was better, the chills from standing in the rain under the brolly had to get to me & I think I just caught another bout of flu. I hope to be back in action soon. If you have *healthy vibes* to spare, do send them my way! As the bug is spreading itself around the island, do take care & load up on vitamins so you don't end up all sick & weak & tired like me!

Rosey S$38 - Red coral swarovski pearls, a huge carved gold toned rose & a cluster of swarovski crystals. This piece has the rose strand draping when worn. The rose is placed in an asymmetrical pattern. The back of the chains are chunky 14k gold plated chains.

Well festivities are coming up in a couple of weeks. While it was a quiet weekend last week, this week saw lots of people shopping. The malls were ohsovery BUSY with lots of people buying lots of clothes! To complement the CNY festivities, here are a couple of pieces to jazz up/accompany that new dress(or dresses)!

I've added touches of red everywhere to usher in the CNY. If you are one to shy away from REDs in your tops or dresses, wear it in your accessories instead!

Greenie S$35 - The only piece without red. The soothing greens to balance off the CNY festivities.

A hint of Red S$35 - Not for the faint hearted. If icy-ness & bold-ness is you, then this is for you. The heart with floral detailing & the cherry attemps to break the Icy-ness of this piece.

Mary had a little Lamb S$35 - I love these vintage cartoon illustrations cabs. The small round beads are coral & garnet which is a deep red with purple hues when you shine light through it. That is not the only beauty of the beads, they are also not perfectly round so they add on to the playful-ness of this piece.

It has been a slow going 2007 for Pink Boudoir thanks to lots of other commitments. As such, I only allow time for customised pieces. Here are 2 pieces for a NEW customer for the NEW 2007. She loves the clean look but likes one centrepiece to dominate.

The necklace piece can be worn either ways. Chains used are shiny rhodium, gold toned piece which I scored from a little shop in USA through an enabler & shiny dark rhodium chain. The kitschy cameo piece on the necklace is a NEW old piece that features kitschy cartoon from many years back. The illustration are available in a couple of other designs from the same era. Remakes for both necklace & bracelet are available. :)

I took a sinful almost 5 days break this week coz I have been soooo tired. So the weekend saw me bent over my bead table completing my last 2 lots of customised Xmas gifts. One for a lot of 10 bag charms(all assorted to suit 10 different people) & another for 50 mobile charms, very simple but colourful & slightly Bling-Y were the only thing I had to follow. Coz I have time, I took some pic.

Back to this piece. This is a black & gold piece with a short strings of diamante over the black chains. The gold chains are antique gold. This has no clasp so you can wear it anyway you like, the bow at the sides, higher up or lower or even in the centre like a normal pendant position. The length of this chain is 26".

Tea Party - yet another muffin & teapot combo. This is such a hit that it has been making it's re-appearance ever so often. This time the sweet donut makes it a great tea party set...yummylicious sweetness!

Shrooms - The owner & I had a very simple piece in mind for this. But I made this when the mind was creatively awake so whipped up some beads & a short cinnamon swirl strand of chain & I end up loving this. So does the owner so double YAY for me. :)

A little tidbit on Rhinos - They can sprint up to 45km per hour. Their males will fight each other, often using their horn to cause real damage. They also have very small eyes & have very poor eyesight. Though they cannot see you, they certainly can smell you. Their sense of smell is their best sense.

I did Unlocking my heart piece in June. There were chains around the keys over a HUGE acrylic heart in that piece. NOW this piece is a complete opposite. The key locks the intricate HUGE detailed heart which I love ohsoverymuch. Beads used are czech glass in a dark blue shade with a shiny metallic coat.

Each pin comes with a movable slider holder. This pivots up & down. This is also the part that is attached to the 3 hooks on which I hang charms & chains. The beads are czech glass fire polished beads.

A green jewel toned piece. The green, for once is not a warm tone like nost of my green pieces. I added the gold chain to make this a double strand. Otherwise just slip through the head to waer it longer, half 18k gold plated chain & half beads. The faceted beads are semi precious agate according to the shops but I cannot be sure. But the finishing is brilliant, unlike czech glass. The big rectangular pieces with rounded corners are glass foil beads & right in front are 2 round glass foil bits. Also the back is finished with same shade czech glass crackle beads.
